What is a through the wall post box?
A through the wall post box is letterbox that accepts mail at the front (most typically an external side of a property boundary wall), securing mail until it is later retrieved by a recipient through an opening door on the internal side of the wall.
Why would a through the wall post box be used?
Through the wall post boxes are regularly used in projects where there is a secure area involved in the development (e.g. a secured area only accessible through a locked property door). Using this type of post box in a project like this ensures that access does not have to be granted to the mail delivery personnel to deliver post in the first place.
How does the wall depth affect what type of through the wall post box I order?
As we are a UK manufacturer with over 30 years of experience in creative secure post and parcel delivery boxes, we are able to create post boxes that meet most depths of external property walls. We have a number of different through the wall mail boxes (these can be found further up this page), with options if you know what wall depth it is that you have (fixed depth mail boxes) or if you are not certain of the dimensions (telescopic).
What size of mail can through the wall post boxes accept?
Our mailboxes are designed to securely store mail deliveries with a maximum size of A4 (324mm x 229mm).
What is a telescopic through the wall letterbox?
A telescopic through the wall letterbox is an in front / out back mail box that contains an adjustable depth allowing for various wall thicknesses to be catered for. For example, the ‘Mailforce 2 Telescopic Mailbox’ has a minimum depth of 280mm and a maximum depth of 400mm which allows for A4 sized mail to be securely stored. This would be suitable for a project that does not yet know what the finished wall thickness is.
What type of uses can through the wall post boxes be used in?
We have a comprehensive range of through the wall post boxes ranging from secure solutions to use for mounting upon gates, banks of multiple mailboxes to use in door-side panels and options for processing through pillars.
Can door entry systems be integrated with through the wall post boxes?
